The grandparents that got one of your packs couldn’t believe how lovely the things were and a teenager needing some “love” gave me goosebumps with how excited she was. You would have thought she won the the lotto she was so excited. To top it off, a pair of pyjamas that I donated in the PJ Drive, were the ones that you put in her pack.
Murray River Police District
September 22 · Tots 2 Teens Manager, Joanne Knight dropped off a car boot full of toys and activities to Albury Police Station today. Our officers from the Crime Prevention Unit reached out to the charity to gain assistance with a local family. Our officers then did a contact free drop off at the families home. Tots 2 Teens moto is “We can’t change the situation…but we can change a memory”. We are so thankful we have organisations like Tots 2 Teens in our community who are here helping our community through tough times.

My role is a supervisor at the Wangaratta Police station. On occasion we have had cause to utilise resources provided by tots2teens. On numerous occasions we have had victims, offenders, witnesses attend at the station often in company of their young children. It is often difficult to interview, take statements or engage in general conversation with the parties whilst children are present. Tots2teens have provided the police station with child friendly activity bags which can be provided to the children on arrival. I have spent much of my career supporting victim survivors of family violence both in crisis and in recovery. All too frequently this has included children exposed to significant trauma and needing the help of first responders. I understand how traumatic this can be for them and am more than happy to support any initiative that can take away some of the trauma, hurt and fear that regularly comes with these experiences.
